Blockbuster trying to buy Circuit City

Blockbuster had made an offer earlier this year to buy Circuit City for $6 - $8 a share. They announced it publicly today, and it comes out to about $1.01 to $1.35 billion dollars. They are trying to the same as Apple has done, controlling both software and hardware for a better experience.

Rumor has it that Blockbuster might also be entering the hardware business, releasing a set-top box similar to the Apple TV.

i don't know. blockbuster tried to buy them earlier this year, and were turned down. that's why they made it public, to put more pressure on circuit city
