macbook for paul's mom?

i can still look at it, but i've seen some for sale on macrumors for somewhere around $700 or so. do you think she'd be interested in that?

ok, i will get it sometime this week and let you look at it. i am not sure about buying another one. crystal asked yesterday if there was anyway to get her stuff off of the computer even if it cant be fixed?

wow....that doesnt look good. if you pay $900, you might as well just get a new one. that stinks for her though b/c its not that old. i would be very sad if that happened to mine.

you need to try to get the exact date of purchase. or mainly just figure out if it's over a year old.

so i got an email from Apple, to do a survey of my experience at the genius bar. i did it, and gave a pretty good review.

a lady called me today about it. i gave a neutral rating on part of it, b/c it didn't apply to our case.

anyways, her name is Elizabeth (i think) and the Lead genius is Evan. she said that she would give me 25% off the $755 if we decide to fix it there.

that makes it only $567 + tax. i say we go with that

ok, well crystal called last night and said freida said something to her about it. she said she just didnt have the money for it. she asked though what you were going to do with it and if you were going to resell it. i guess she was thinking if you were going to resell it then she would want some of the profit. i dont really know and crystal didnt know much about it. i am not sure, but it sounded like if you kept it she would want you to give her some money for it, but i told crystal that the way it is now it isnt worth anything. AND you did work on it and got her stuff off her hard drive, which wasnt easy and if it werent for you she wouldnt have got this deal anyway. Crystal just said call her.....

ok, well i think you should call her, since you have been the one to talk to her this whole time.

basically, just tell her first how we got this deal, and then tell her that i'm not going to resell it. i'm not sure what i'd do with it. probably keep it, at least for a little while. then maybe sell it to a family member or friend if someone ever needed a cheap laptop.

but my intent is not to resell it, but keep it.
